Is it true that the head mechanic and owner Dan built the Taxi Cabs for the movie The Wiz? Yes. In 1977 Danny built about a dozen cars for the movie The Wiz. The taxi cabs were actually built from golf carts. The movie was filmed in Astoria and some of The Wiz taxi cabs still exist. I found a mistake/ misspelling/ problem with the website.
